Capacity Sensing technology
(The only Capacity Sensing technology in the industry)
Central Offices (CO) can only handle a finite number of calls at one time. FirstCall’s Capacity Sensing capability allows calls to be delivered faster than any other notification system. FirstCall senses and dynamically adjusts in real time when the volume of emergency calls will overload the CO. When the CO can take more calls we immediately increase the volume of FirstCall emergency calls. We eliminate fast-busy responses and provide a higher percentage of call completion.

Geographic Notifications (GIS Map)
FirstCall Network has partnered with MapInfo Corporation to provide digital maps of calling areas. These maps are updated on a regular basis. The base map for a geographic area is updated on a semi-annual basis while the street files are updated on a bi-monthly basis. Client provided digitized maps in ESRI format may also be used as an overlay to the existing MapInfo map. FirstCall is fully compatible with ESRI mapping as well as other GIS mapping platforms.

Location Tools:
» Address – Select and mark a particular Street Address as a point of reference or center point for your activation
» Intersection – Designate and mark any two cross streets or highways
» Hot Spot – Pre-designated point of Risk (i.e.: facility, intersection)


» Latitude and Longitude – Marks an exact geographic point. The customer types in the GPS location or gives it to the FirstCall Operator and the map will center on that exact location.


 

Area Selection Tools
(Areas are selected by using the following tools: Radius, Concentric Ring Buffering, Freehand Drawing Tools and Sectors.)
» Radius – The Radius tool allows the customer to draw an evenly shaped circle from any point on their maps
» Concentric Ring Buffering – Allows the customer to call any size radius from the inner most point outward. Citizens closest to the emergency will get called first. This method is exclusive in emergency notification to FirstCall Network’s advanced mapping and telephony notification system.

» Freehand Drawing Tool – The customer can send their message to any irregular area by outlining the exact location on the map.
» Sector – Any pre-determined district, grid, shape, railroad, pipeline, etc. (regular or irregular shapes). FirstCall will create sectors according to the customer’s specifications.

Citizen Registration System
FirstCall Network provides a customized website for each client where citizens can register their home, work, cell and email address. They can also choose to opt in on SMS texting. An Email address and a toll-free telephone number for residents are also available to register information. The privacy of these telephone numbers is protected under the normal non-disclosure agreement that FirstCall has with its clients.




 
BlurtAlert Technology

BlurtAlert for Desktop Service runs in the background and bandwidth usage is very low (measured in bytes, not even kilobytes). All communication is encrypted using US military strength encryption processes, preventing interception of message or sending of unauthorized messages.

» Real time receipt confirmation both in an easy to read report log and on an IP address based interactive map as the users indicate they have received the alert. You will immediately collect information from the person sitting at each computer so that you know who has read the alert. Allows different confirmation messages based on the activation parameters

» Allows 2-way interactive communication with users at each PC location who can type a series of real time responses about what they see or hear. You can make use of the eyes and ears of computer users who can tell you what is actually happening near them during the incident. You have real time feedback and control

» Allows Emergency Director to filter only the responses of users who can see the incident unfolding at that time. You can filter results to see only the critical PC user responses who can tell you what is really happening at the hot spot during the incident

» Enables messages to be sent to specific areas of the building or geographic areas that are affected by the emergency utilizing IP addresses. You can select critical PC users to send and receive information in and near the hot spot

» Acts as a “client” across the network, so no firewall ports or NATs need to be opened. You will have a simple and fast implementation setup process


 
Mobile Response Unit (MRU)

FirstCall mobilized its FirstCall Mobile Response Unit (MRU) to provide another layer of protection to Hurricane affected clients. FirstCall, according to company research, is the only emergency alert notification company to put its entire Network Operation Center software on wheels. The units go pre-storm to locations outside of areas that will be affected and are staged in that location and then they are driven back into areas where they can be of assistance. Traveling with a mobile MRU is a trained emergency crisis specialist.
